Relationship Marketing Strategy - Part 2
In my last post I talked about the abc’s of relationship selling. There I discussed the importance of developing a balance between acquiring new customers and retaining the ones you already have.
Today let’s talk about a strategy to further develop a relationship with your customers. If you have a blog (which is something you should definitely consider) try coming up with a set of topics that you can alternate on your blog to give it some variety. This will give your blog a more interesting feel and make people more likely to visit the blog and subscribe to your blog feed.
This will definitely take some planning. You’re trying to hold your reader’s interest while “promoting” your product. You want to be careful not to come off sounding like a broken record by saying “my product is great and you need to buy it!” Try not to only talk about your product.
You need to convey to your reader why they should do business with you. You can do this by sharing good information with them that can help them understand why your product can make their life easier. If you product solves a specific problem show them how it solves the problem without giving away the whole enchilada.
You can do this by including some tips, maybe even some tutorials. Creating a “weekly tip” category of posts where you share a valuable tip in your niche is something your readers will appreciate.
You can alternate among categories to keep things interesting. You can even set up a pattern for your blog posts such as “Monday Media Tips”, “Tuesday Tips”, “Friday Freebies”, etc. By using this relationship marketing strategy you will keep your readers’ interest and also give them something to look forward to.
